# Governance The smart contracts are the heart of the protocol but it is the governance that acts as the protocol's brain and defines its actions. The Lamden community will have complete control of the protocol so we expect the community to treat it well. The RBX Token is the Governance token of the protocol – its holders have the power to vote and make changes to the Rubix Protocol.
